EPA block massive West Australian energy project

Wednesday, June 7, 2006 The Western Australian (WA) Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has advised against the massive Greater Gorgon liquefied natural gas project off WA’s Pilbara coast. Proponents of the projects say Gorgon is one of Australia’s biggest export ventures, scheduled to provide up to 6,000 jobs and exports of up to $1.2 billion. US unemployment rate reaches 9.8%

Friday, October 2, 2009 Companies in the United States are shedding more jobs, pushing the country’s unemployment rate to a 26-year high of 9.8%. The US Labor Department said on Friday that employers cut 263,000 jobs in September, with companies in the service industries — including banks, restaurants and retailers — hit especially hard. Wednesday, February 18, 2009 The Nuclear ballistic missile submarines Triomphant, from France, and HMS Vanguard, of the British Royal Navy, collided deep under the middle of the Atlantic Ocean in the middle of the night between February 3 and 4, despite both vessels being equipped with sonar. Thursday, May 6, 2010 New York Police Department spokesperson Paul Browne said that New York City’s Triborough Bridge was shut down after a U-Haul truck with Arizona state license plates was found abandoned. The food products were sold at the Tesco, Waitrose, and Somerfield supermarkets.
